Healing from Perfectionism Pt. 4

If you missed the first three parts, catch up here.
In this final installment, at least for now, we will check in on your embodiment.
Last time you picked a replacement for perfectionism. How’s that going? What does a person who operates with your replacement do, think, and believe? How do they speak? How do they carry themselves?
Embodiment requires involving your entire body. If you thought you could think yourself into a new mode, you are likely finding that helpful yet insufficient. Practice incorporating your body in the ways most aligned with this new way of being.
Here is an example:
If the alternative to perfectionism you came up with is: ‘I am already enough’ then I might guess that a few of your new behaviors, thoughts, and feelings might include:
setting realistic expectations for your day/week/month
establishing and holding clear boundaries
doing the things that nourish you
catching yourself when the perfectionism creeps in and allowing for grace
hitting pause when you begin creating unhelpful stories about how that conversation, meeting, or presentation went
increasing experiences that are conducive to feeling pride, peace, and even joy
smiling/laughing so much more
What will this look and sound like for you?
