How To Heal: By Moving Forward Even If You’re on Your Own

Not everyone is supposed to understand the next chapter of your path or even be a part of it because not all relationships are supposed to be forever. Healing sometimes requires space. Some processes require solitude and very little to no handholding. In fact, I've noticed that a sign of healing progress can include having the courage and conviction to outgrow relationships. The new you that emerges may not be who people are used to and that could make them uncomfortable. Your role is to protect your healing progress and peace, not to protect others from discomfort.
The best indicator of whether or not someone should still be in your inner circle is how you feel after spending time with that person. I'm not talking about people who lovingly challenge your beliefs for your own growth and self-awareness. I'm referring to the people who hold you back and keep you small.
Consider these prompts:
Who am I holding onto out of habit or guilt?
What relationships feel heavy instead of healing?
You don’t have to be alone forever, but you might need to be on your own for now. Trust that the right people will meet you when and where the time is right.
