welcome to building the coaching basics

Welcome!

You’ve decided to strengthen your leadership by building your coaching skills. That’s a great move.

I’ve been coaching students and adults for over two decades all across classrooms, boardrooms, and living rooms. I’ve coached people through burnout, re-orgs, self-doubt, career pivots, and more than a few complicated team dynamics.

I built this course because coaching is one of the most effective ways to support growth, for yourself and for others. You don’t need a huge budget. What matters is that you learn how to listen, stay present, and ask great questions.

The strategies in this course are the ones I use all the time. They are all covered in a liberation playbook with lots of examples and transcripts. ALP is a leadership development manual that centers our healing so that "professional development" includes personal development. It covers eight different Leadership Modes that we need for effective leadership. I will include page numbers wherever applicable so you can reinforce your learning.

This course will help you apply coaching tools that make your leadership more responsive and sustainable, right away. Coaching skills help us become better coaches, mentors, educators, leaders, partners, and just better human beings.

Let’s begin.

access to the learning

Just as healing does not look the same for everyone, neither does learning. You will find video, audio, visual supports, reflection prompts, and downloadable handouts throughout, so you have a variety of inputs that can speak to how your brain and body take in new information. For any video or audio clip feel free to change the speed so it matches what works best for you.
